“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.” – Psalm 19:1-2

What if creation helped us understand what God has revealed in his Word?

At Planted we believe there is great value in getting out into creation. And this dedicated year on a farm in the

beautiful mountains of northeast Pennsylvania will allow you to do just that. But our purpose is much bigger

than simply reconnecting with nature, having fun on outdoor trips, and learning wilderness skills.

In Romans 1:20 we’re told that “since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power

and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.” This means that God not only speaks to us in his Word but also through his world.

How does this truth shape the way we study God’s revelation and engage with nature? For us at Planted, it means that our curriculum and teaching style is designed to get you out into God’s creation so that you can more clearly hear God’s voice in what he has made. We want to discover ways that creation “declares the glory of God” and provides images that illustrate biblical truth. And we want to equip you to use creation as a means to talk about Jesus and his good news with others.

Built on this foundation, our planned trips and spontaneous times of hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, climbing, swimming, caving, winter sports, and just sitting and enjoying the beauty of nature will also be fun experiences where you pick up many useful skills. And it will be a rare and invaluable chance to step away from life’s many distractions to grow deeper in relationship with God and connect meaningfully with others.

Come join us for a year where God’s Word will come alive for you in fresh ways and where you’ll see the world he has made in a new light.
