“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

– Isaiah 55:10-11

How does the truth that God speaks change everything for us?

The heart of your year at Planted is the rich and thrilling pursuit to know the God who designed you

for relationship with him. And the best part is that we aren’t left on our own to grope in the dark

towards him. Far from being distant, this God has drawn near—to reveal himself and to redeem his

people. His Word is our light, his Spirit our guide, and his Son our life.

The curriculum at Planted is designed to…

  1. More deeply equip you for a lifetime of Bible study, with courses that give you training and practice in reading and interpreting Scripture.

  2. Help you orient your worldview around what God has spoken, with classes that help you to use God’s Word as your foundation for seeking answers to life’s big questions, examining your own opinions, and evaluating cultural messages.

  3. Shape your heart not just your head, with faculty who want to see you grow in Christlikeness as you study the Scriptures that above all else “testify about him” (John 5:39).

We achieve this through a modular teaching model where students go through one class at a time together, taught by a staff member or a visiting professor. The two semesters are intentionally structured to take students from the root to the fruit of Christianity. See Courses and Trips for more details.

These academically robust and spiritually rich classes earn students 26 credits at Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky, with the possibility of credit at other Christian colleges as well.

The one who is like a tree planted by streams of water is the one who delights in the law of the Lord and meditates on it day and night. What a privilege to devote a year, in a focused way, to this pursuit with other like-minded students!
