“They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor” – Isaiah 60:21

Planted is a one-year program intentionally crafted for high school graduates, ages 18-24, who desire to be grounded and to grow in their knowledge of, trust in, and love for Jesus Christ. This unique gap year program, located on a camp in the mountains of northern PA, weaves together biblical training, hands-on farming, outdoor adventure, and life skill development. Each component of Planted’s program is a context for intentional discipleship and fostering deep relationships.

Students at Planted sow dedicated time at a pivotal moment of life in order to reap a harvest of knowledge, maturity, and character. They stop to reflect on how God has already been cultivating their heart and press on to prepare for what God is calling them to next, which may include further education, work, forming a family, and a life of service in the local church. They learn to orient their worldview and answer difficult questions based on what God has said.

All of this takes place within the context of a small, tight-knit community. Students learn, work, adventure, and pursue personal and spiritual growth with a group of 15-20 other students and a staff of committed mentors. They participate together in devotions, share meals, work on the farm, engage in thought-provoking discussions, explore and have fun together, pray and worship, serve in local churches, and forge life-long friendships. They experience being known and loved. And they leave Planted with a vision and an eagerness to pursue deep fellowship and hospitality within their own churches and communities.

God’s intention is to plant his people—like a tree beside streams of water. It’s exactly what we all need. Our confident hope is that, in the hands of the wise and loving Farmer, students in this program will sink roots down deeper and grow up higher, becoming more grounded in the truth and more filled with the fruit of the Spirit as they experience his revelation together in his Word and in his world.
